Stop Taking Dating Advice From People In Crappy Relationships

Experience doesn’t always make you an expert.

Generally, the more experience you have with something, the more qualified you are to speak on it.

Except…when it comes to dating.

Would you rather get dating advice from someone who’s been in ten relationships or someone who’s been in two?

The truth is, someone who’s dated a lot of different people is going to have experience. But is it the right kind of experience?

Serial daters are experienced in breaking up — not in maintaining successful, happy relationships.

This is why I say: be careful with who you take dating advice from.

Not all experience is good experience.

Women, especially, have a warped sense of what a “good relationship” looks like.

One of my female friends recently shared that she was the only single friend left in her friend group from high school. “They were talking about planning a couples trip next year,” she told me, “I just hope I find someone by then!”

I asked her if they all were happy in their relationships and she said yes, they were all great together.
