Let’s End The Hypocrisy of the #MeToo Movement
Men can’t be sexually assaulted by women.
Why does a large portion of society believe this?
And why don’t we ever talk about it?
You have a father, brother, son, or friend who is male — do you not?
You should care.
The #MeToo movement has a tremendous double standard.
Male victims of sexual assault are rarely given the justice they deserve — especially when the perpetrator is female.
But why is this?
For one, society propagates the idea that young men always want sex.
Young men are painted to be sex-crazed animals. Because of this idea, there is an underlying assumption that no man would turn down a woman asking for sex. (Especially from a young or otherwise attractive woman.)
By this logic, a young man “can’t be sexually assaulted” because he wouldn’t say no to a woman.
Obviously, this is completely untrue.
But this concept that “men always want sex” is extremely harmful to men and women alike.
