Ladies, Lying About Your Past Is A Terrible Idea
If you do this, your relationship is doomed before it even starts.
There’s a running joke that when talking about their number of previous partners, men tend to lie up while women lie down.
Men tend to double while women tend to halve.
If you’re a guy — the more women you’ve slept with, the “more feathers in your cap.”
But if you’re a girl — not so much.
I recently came across an article encouraging women to lie if it made them more likely to secure a relationship with a quality guy.
(Because a high body count or too many ex-boyfriends might be a red flag to potential suitors.)
Anyway, this article is called, How to Hide a Promiscuous Past from Your New Lover and suggests pretending your ex-lovers were all terrible, accusing them of having abused you, and bringing your close friends in on the conspiracy to make it more believable.
Ooof.
I mean — is this what people are resorting to these days?
By all means, a man doesn’t need to know the details of your past if he’s just going to shame or judge you for it.
