First I just want to say that this is incredibly well-written and articulated. Amazing piece!
A few thoughts I wanted to share. One of my favorite topics to ponder is the relationship between sex, philosophy, and spirituality, and you explored all three beautifully. The Covenantal view best aligns with my beliefs. Most of the time, people misunderstand this interpretation, or see it as idealistic and impractical. You explained it well, so I really appreciate that. The virtue of chastity is so undervalued in our society, probably because it's commonly confused with abstinence. Where abstinence involves the actions of one's body, chastity involves the state of one's heart and soul.
Granted, you are also right about it being extremely difficult to practice chastity because it's so much deeper than simply "don't have sex until you're married." It also includes the way you interact with men and women, how you dress, how you speak, the content you consume for entertainment, and of course, how you approach dating. And while I don't think any of us can practice 100% perfect chastity, we can strive to get as close to it as possible.
Anyway, that's my ramble on the subject. Thanks for such a great read!
