Finding Your Soulmate is Like Finding the Perfect Pair of Sneakers
Finding one’s soulmate has always been a romantic notion, but is it something we should all aspire to achieve?
Well, yes…and no.
Your soulmate is said to be your perfect match — someone who perfectly compliments your personality. Someone who makes you whole.
Not everyone is lucky enough to find their soulmate, but if you do, you will fall madly in love, ride off into the sunset, and live happily ever after. The end.
But what if you don’t find your soulmate?
Perhaps you are doomed to end up with someone else. Someone less… compatible. Perhaps you will never experience the bliss of true love. Perhaps you are destined to be angrily divorced, with an ex-wife suing you an arm and a leg for alimony.
Or, perhaps, you’ll end up with a pretty good match, but be left to wonder if you missed out on “the one” by settling for less.
The concept of soulmates, while deeply romantic, highlights the paradox of choice.
