I once heard the quote: “You always believe your last to be your first and your first to be your last.”

A song that beautifully explores this concept is titled “Nothing Like This” by Rascal Flatts.

I still remember the first time I heard this song. I was going through a difficult season of heartache, and the lyrics made me think about the possibility of a future love story.

I imagined the feeling of relief and security that would eventually come with finding my person. I imagined how good it would feel to find someone who made all the heartache seem irrelevant. I imagined what it would be like to look back on past relationships and realize that the love I ended up with was better than I could have ever dreamed.

There are a few elements I really enjoy about the song.
