I think the difference here is many people seek friendship with others for the purpose of getting sexual or romantic gratification from it.

When a friendship naturally turns romantic, it is a beautiful thing. Any romantic relationship should also involve friendship, surely. But I think we do ourselves and others a disservice if we only seek friendship with the motivation of it turning romantic.

Friendship can be enjoyed for its own sake. Finding people who care about you like a brother or sister should have its place in our lives as well.
